The Carens is now available with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine only, but the Clavis can be had with either the naturally-aspirated petrol engine or the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is available with a manual transmission with both the cars, but the turbo-petrol engine in the Clavis can be had with either a manual transmission, an auto clutch manual transmission or a dual-clutch automatic.

The Carens is 4540mm long, 1800mm wide and 1708mm tall. Bigger exterior dimensions give a car a stronger road presence. The Carens has a 2780mm long wheelbase. A long wheelbase makes the car more stable at high speeds and gives better legroom in the back seat, while a shorter wheelbase makes the car more agile.

The Kia Carens is available with 3 engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated Petrol, a 1.5L turbo Petrol and a 1.5L turbo Diesel.

The 1.5L naturally aspirated Petrol makes 115PS of power at 6300rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4500rpm. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.

The 1.5L turbo Petrol churns out 160PS of power at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500 and 3500rpm. The 1.5L turbo Petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.

The 1.5L turbo Diesel is rated to deliver 116PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500 and 2750rpm. You can get the 1.5L turbo Diesel engine of the Carens with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed TC.
