A cassette tape was given to me by producer Steve Nye in 1984. He had been asked to produce The Armoury Show, but declined, and let me have the tape. I flipped when I heard them demos, as I thought they were absolutely superb, and the band were going to be enormous. This demonstrates the complete genius of McGeogh and Jobson. As far as I’m concerned the demos were much better than the resultant album. Anyway, here they are, make up your own minds! Unfortunately the quality isn’t great from 40 year old cassettes. I saw them at The Electric Ballroom in 1984 and they were brilliant, Jobson being one the best front-men ever. CP
