Here we are all after more than a week with another video and starting off with another Touge Challenge and this time bringing the new GT3 they added, the Ferrari 296GT3 which surely fits really well against some of the modern GT3s which aren't many but for example the 2020 AMG GT3 and although not new but the Viper GT3-R. But this time to see how much of a difference 10years make the chosen one for this was the old 458GT3 which wasn't exactly the most competitive when it comes to online events but somehow for some campaign events it's actually quite a decent car to be used of course with some minor flaws that many MR cars have sometimes thus being some understeer under more torque gears but still easy to get the way with it. To start off we have the 458GT3 which as was said it's a bit underwhelming when it comes in some competitive areas but still filled a gap for some italian brand with race pedigree. Now about how its characteristics, in terms of acceleration it was surprisingly smooth which honestly it's what you can expect from a NA V8 in most of the cases although during slow corner section you can notice that under now acceleration this 458 have a small tendency to understeer which if you are trying to set a good lap can be some small problems not only but since it have a very quick acceleration you will find yourself sliding during corner exits quite easily. Handling is something amazing on it even when you notice that it's a 10 year old GT3 car where can take some high speed corner pretty easily with very little lack of correction and understeer. Brakes are something that we can expect to be amazing specially when you combine them with the Race compound tires these cars turn to some amazing grip beast. Overall the 458GT3 might not be the exactly best choice but you can be surprised that it's a pretty good car to be used for races. Now on the other side we have the new generation, abandoning the V8s and V12 Ferrari like many other brands started using the V6 which in my opinion although it's a nice engine it do feel that lacks when it comes to sound and soul that the other engines had but although not having the best sound its performance surely proves that are worth to be used on track. Comparing with the V8 flatplane from the 458 the V6 produces 57HP more and of course since it's a turbo you can expect some nasty blow offs when letting off throttle. Now its power is something quite peculiar in a way, you may expect that it have a really good start but since this car have a sort of anti-lag or at least a sort of launch control its idle rpm is pretty high when comparing to other cars like the Genesis, RS01 and the R35 making the 296 being a tricky car to launch from the grid. The best way to start is making sure throttle is always full open so you don't let the rpm fall too much. Handling on this one is a bit odd since for some reason this is the only GT3 where the steering wheel only turn 90º making you lose a bit the sense of direction so quite difficult to know when you are losing or recovering traction sometimes with that too in comparison to the 458 this is a more oversteerie car where the best way to take corners is to make sure that you keep the rpm high to keep the turbo running because the moment you change gears and the turbo start loading you will see this car sliding left to right. Brakes are pretty good as part of the race package it's something you will not feel bad using unless you need to turn and trailbrake which you can notice that the suspension in comparison to the 458 is a bit more soft causing some understeer in certain corners. Overall the 296GT3 surely put the Ferrari back on the competitive line with a more competent car against the turbo line up we have nowadays. In a completion, both cars are quite amazing and although the huge age gap they have from production the 458 still have some oil to burn against the new big dogs, its V8 don't go down without a good fight on straight lines and its acceleration is more the top notch against the turbos. If this made you interested in buying them, they are available at the Dealership where the 458GT3 cost 450,000 and the 296GT3 cost 1.200.000 which is a salty price for this car but if i remember it did carry some wins like the Ford GT3 2016 so they end up being a bit more expensive although the 296 is more woth than the GT. Hope you all enjoy, don't forget to subscribe and stay tuned
