So as you all know the second major stimulus package... the heroes act passed the house on May 15th and still nothing happened to it in the senate... other than criticizing it... many have commented.. I received my first stimulus check already but I'm still waiting on my second stimulus check... the second stimulus check is part of the heroes act which only passed the house so far.. but needs to pass the senate and the president to be official.. and those two steps didnt happen yet... but here's what we're hearing now from senate democrats according to the hill.com ... Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, said he wants the next round of stimulus to be more focused on the households that have been hardest hit by the shutdown caused by the pandemic.... when he was asked if he supports a second round of stimulus checks.. he said "I’d like to take a look at all that aid we provided and get good economic information on the value for that, from the point of view of our economy but more importantly on fairness to people who are really hurt," he also said the direct payments made more sense in March when Congress wanted to get money out the door as quickly as possible. But now, as states are allowing businesses to reopen around the country, he says lawmakers should look at who will most need relief in the coming months..... Another senator... senator Ron Wyden (Ore.), the senior Democrat on the Finance Committee, said he would back another round of direct payments but that they’re not his top priority.... here's his quote “I would support additional payments, as well as fixing problems with the first round of payments like the exclusion of dependents and citizen children of immigrants. My top priorities are tying expanded unemployment benefits to economic conditions and providing more help for the smallest of small businesses,"
