Описание: নভেম্বর মাসের মাঝামাঝি, কোলকাতায় তখন শীত সেভাবে জাঁকিয়ে বসে নি, তল্পিতল্পা নিয়ে পাড়ি দিলাম সিকিমের দিকে। উদ্দেশ্য নভেম্বরের পরিস্কার আকাশে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘা পর্বতশ্রেণীর কিছু ঝকঝকে ছবি তোলা আর শীত শুরুর সময়ে উঁচু পাহাড়ের পাখিরা যখন একটু একটু করে নীচে নামা শুরু করে, তাদের কয়েকজনের সাথে যদি দেখা সাক্ষাৎ হয়, এই আর কি।
সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া আর ট্রেনের টিকিট কাটা এর মধ্যের ব্যবধান বিশেষ কিছু না থাকার দরুন বন্দে ভারত ছাড়া আর কোন বিকল্প ছিল না। প্রায় একটা গোটা দিন শুধু ট্রেন আর গাড়িতেই কাটলো।
সে যা হোক, রাতের অন্ধকারে ইয়াংসুমে পৌঁছলেও, পরদিন ভোর থেকে প্রকৃতি তার সৌন্দর্যের পসরা সাজিয়ে দিয়েছিল আমাদের সামনে। আর তার সাথে ছিল এই হোমস্টের চমৎকার আতিথেয়তা। এই দুই পাওয়া আমাদের পাখি বা বন্য জন্তুর বৈচিত্র্য দেখার সৌভাগ্য না হওয়ার দুঃখ অনেকটাই ভুলিয়ে দিয়েছিল।

In mid-November, when winter had not yet arrived in Kolkata, we set off for Sikkim with my luggage and a heart full of anticipation. My goal was to capture stunning views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range under the clear November sky and to witness the gentle arrival of winter. As the season begins to change, birds from the high mountains slowly descend to lower altitudes—and what could be more rewarding than encountering some of them along the way?
Since there was hardly any gap between making the decision and booking the train ticket, there was no other option but Vande Bharat Express. Almost a full day was spent on train and car.
Although we reached Yangsum after sundown, nature revealed its beauty to us the very next morning. Along with that, the warm hospitality of the homestay owners helped us forget the slight disappointment of not spotting many birds or wild animals.
In this video, I present some of my favorite moments from this journey. I hope you enjoy traveling with me.
