Every time I revert to the cars that I have had the pleasure of covering, the modern classic Jags just jump out! In particular above the saloons and even the Daimler takes on the cars, its the XJ series. They never tried to compete with the SL's of the time they threw caution to the wind and said "Sleek, Serene and Powerful"...and boy did they hit that mark!

This particular vehicle in its gun metal grey paintwork and chrome accents coupled with that punchy manual box made for a simply exhilarating drive. Starting her up and to use a cliche, hearing the big cat growl lol, you engage first and the car simple lifts off. No techy turbo lag, or complicated four wheel drive system here, just simple pedal to the metal, tarmac burning, best of British.

As time moves on the company did what it had to to survive, mergers and sales of brands later, the latest cars are absolutely brilliant too, but never forget your past Jaguar. It was show piece cars such as this that ensure your media coverage, rave reviews from car journalist and your loyal brand buyers who stuck with you through thick and thin. i would love to see a 2014 revamp of the XJs...that would be something to drool over now wouldn't it!
