Former Solicitor General Harish Salve on the USAID controversy exclaimed that he was not surprised with this revelation. He further recounted former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s era complimenting her on the leadership she provided and her efforts to not let the foreign hand destabilise India’s democracy.

He further stated that certain organizations have been fronts for these actions for a long time. He praised US President Donald Trump’s administration for cleaning this up and expressed sadness on the fact that PM Indira Gandhi’s family was involved in this. He then urged the government to conduct deeper investigation by demanding proper evidence and full disclosure which should eventually result in the Indian government releasing a 'white paper' and giving clarity to the populace.
