When developing Odoo modules, there are times when we need our test environment to communicate with external systems. This often comes up when building OAuth providers, payment integrations, or any module that connects to third-party services.
The problem is, these external systems usually run on different networks, and we often have no control over them.
That makes testing tricky—how do you show your local environment to a system you can’t access directly?
The solution is tunneling. Tunneling lets you safely expose your local server to the internet, so external systems can reach it as if it were live online.
