Georgia gives out nearly $2 billion each year through its 30% Film & TV Tax Credit — paid for by Georgia taxpayers. But there’s a problem: the state does not publicly track who receives those credits.
We don’t know whether those billions are going to Black-owned, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, or Georgia-owned production companies — or even how many Georgia residents are hired.
The Georgia Film Equity Project is calling for transparency, accountability, and fairness in how taxpayer dollars are distributed through this incentive program.
