why I quit premed | I'm not going to medical school

Описание: I'm finally talking about why I quit pre-med and why I decided not to go into medicine. I avoided talking about this for awhile because I, too, was just formulating my thoughts, but here I go into some deep honest reflections. Again, these are just my opinions and I still have soft spot in my heart for the healthcare industry and will always treasure and enjoy the time I did as a premed. I don't ever see it as a waste of time, but an incredibly enlightening and challenging learning experience. Nothing in life is a waste. I have so much respect for health care workers who work in this quite difficult and exhausting industry. And no industry is perfect. I also think that there was just a different opportunity that came to me at the right time, and I changed my mind.

I also want to embrace that it's okay to change your mind. It's okay to be passionate about one thing, and also not pursue it as your JOB. It's okay to find a job for different reasons. Let's normalizing having jobs that are not your ENTIRE identity. People are so much more than one single job, and they can do so much more.

If you want to go into healthcare so you can make lots of money? Do it. The patient care? Do it. I would never shame/guilt anyone for wanting to go into a certain job because it provides a certain level of financial stability. How someone decides to make money is none of my business.
