Types of transformer
1) In a step-up transformer, the output voltage is increased.
2) in a step-down transformer, the output voltage is decreased.
3) Autotransformer: It will have only one winding wound over a laminated core. The primary and secondary share the same coil. It wrks on the principle of self induction.
There are three basic parts of a transformer:
1) an iron core that serves as a magnetic conductor,
2) a primary winding or coil of wire and.
3) a secondary winding or coil of wire.
