The state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil faced a catastrophic flood, the worst in its history. Beyond the physical destruction, the local economy collapsed. For thousands of bar owners, their businesses were their only source of income for their families. They didn't just need beer to sell; they needed a way to rebuild from the mud.

2. The Idea

BEES, Brazil's largest B2B beverage supplier app, was transformed in less than 24 hours. Ambev realized that their existing logistics network and digital connection to every bar in the country made them the fastest vehicle for disaster relief. The app shifted from a sales platform to a crisis support hub.

3. Execution (The Pivot)
Ambev integrated a "Crisis Mode" into the BEES app, offering specific modules for recovery:

Restocking & Supplies: Delivering donations, cleaning kits, and sanitation supplies instead of just commercial inventory.

Infrastructure Recovery: Providing furniture/equipment replacement, as well as connecting owners to electrical and plumbing repair services.

Financial & Legal Aid: Emergency cash vouchers, legal assistance, and insurance support to navigate the aftermath.

Human Support: Mental health helplines for owners suffering from the trauma of the disaster.

4. Results & Impact

Immediate Relief: 6,360 bars were helped through the platform.

Business Continuity: 82% of the affected bars remained operational one year after the disaster.

Brand Trust: Achieved 98.8% customer confidence in sales recovery.

Legacy: What started as a temporary response is now a permanent feature in the BEES app, making Ambev "Ready for any disaster, anywhere in Brazil."

The campaign was widely praised by media outlets like CNN and Globo for responding with the "speed of a startup," proving that corporate scale can be used for rapid, localized good.
