STORYLINE:
Airbases in Puerto Rico saw increased activity as the region woke up to the news of the capture of Venezuela's President Nicolás Maduro by the U.S.

Military aircraft could be seen taxiing and taking off at the Aguadfilla and La Ceiba bases, including C-130 transport planes, Ospreys and an F-35 fighter jet.

U.S. Southern Command says around 15,000 personnel are operating in the area, in the largest military buildup in the region in generations.

The State Department on Saturday issued a new travel alert, warning Americans in Venezuela to “shelter in place” due to the situation.
