The course broken down:
0-11.7 = Happy Valley Fire Road and The lowers: Punchy faster trail with technical features dispersed throughout.
11.7-30.6 = The Interior Loop: Buck climb, Gauntlet descent. Other parts are punchy and technical
30.6-40 = Happy Valley Fire Road and The lowers again. Only 9 miles but it’s a long 9 miles with a big hoof up over the final ridge before dropping into Hollins

Feed zone will be at the beginning and end of the interior loop. Really good placement if you ask me.

Things to know:
It’s gonna be HOT and HUMID. Stash water or bring a filter if you are riding in the heat of the summer.
No food or services out there.
Buck is the BIG climb followed by a ridge line traverse on Brushy MTN Fire Road followed by the BIG descent.
Besides Buck everything else is death by 1000 paper cuts.
If you park at the boat dock bring cash. Barney Fife will not let you in! $7 to be exact. I think

Best guess for race time this loop is 3-3:15 for Pro Men. Therefore, it is possible that Pro’s do two interior loops, which would add 18miles and roughly 1.5 hrs.

The only course change I think that could happen would be a continuation of hemlock tunnel to Upper Comet rather than taking Araminta and dying up the death climb. That would make the loop roughly 10 min shorter. This is more likely if we do two interior loops.
