West System epoxy is an incredibly effective product for protecting wood boats from the elements, so good in fact that it needs to be done correctly in order to avoid issues long term. In this video we take a look through my recommendations for ensuring long term protection of modern wooden boats utilising the best working practices with West System epoxy.
As I build a plywood skiff, we cover encapsulation, pre-coating, component corner preparation including rounding and filleting, fibre glassing and mechanical fixings. We look at each of these elements and everything that we should consider when aiming to protect our boats at the maximum level.
