This is the situation in which Steve Michon from Zero Tolerance LLC found himself as he and his team were machining a part featuring some deep holes. Despite the conservative peck-drilling approach, the drill broke into the hole leaving Steve with a couple of options (besides cussing): scrapping the part and machining a new one or trying to get the drill out of the hole.
As an EDM expert, he opted for the second, hoping that fast-hole EDM would be the ideal solution to solve the issue.
