A historian by education and a professional writer by choice, he was honoured in 2016 with the Upendra Kishore Ray Chowdhury Award by the West Bengal Shishu Kishore Academy for his book Kalo Ghuri. His stories have been adapted into multiple audio formats and continue to captivate readers and listeners across generations.
