Make this quick kalakand with the basic ingredients available at home and enjoy. Kalakand can be made plain too without mangoes.
Ingredients used
1 litre milk
1 cup mango puree (puree of 2 mangoes)
Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
Sugar 1/4th cup
Cardamom powder 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
Milk powder 3-4 tbspn (optional)
Ghee for greasing the container
Pistachios, saffron, silver paper (optional)
Procedure
💫When the milk is about to boil, add in mango puree and stir.
💫Then add lemon juice and stir. It will start curdling.
💫 Keep stirring and when it starts becoming slightly thick, add saffron strands, sugar, cardamom powder, milk powder and mix well.
💫 When it starts becoming thick and holding shape, switch off flame.
💫 Pour the mixture to the greased container, top with your desired topping and allow it to set in refrigerator for 2 hours.
💫 Cut and enjoy.
👌Tips
Use pure cow milk for making kalakand as that will give the perfectly grainy texture just like store bought kalakands. I used tetra pack milk and it doesn't give the desired grainy texture. Nonetheless it was too tasty.
