2021 Local Elections, Governance & Stability

Описание: On 4 September 2020, the Dullah Omar Institute (in collaboration with SALGA and the Hanns Seidel Foundation) hosted a webinar on the upcoming 2021 Local Government Elections. We addressed three questions, namely: What will it take to ensure a free and fair election, what impact do elections have on municipal administrations, and what can we expect of political parties and senior municipal officials? Panelists were Sy Mamabolo (CEO of the IEC), Johann Mettler (fmr City Manager of Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality) and Dr Thina Nzo (Snr Researcher at PARI). The webinar was attended by 120 participants from government, civil society and academia.
