The District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner Ramban Sh.Mohd Alyas Khan JKAS and the Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban Sh.Arun GuptaJKPS successfully conducted a Civil Defence Air Raid Blackout Mock Drill in Ramban town on 23 April 2026.

As part of routine preparedness for disaster and emergency situations, a scheduled blackout was observed from 08:35 PM to 08:50 PM, triggered by the sounding of sirens. The exercise was conducted in close coordination with DySP DAR, I/C Area Commandant HG/CD & SDRF Ramban, Sh.Kuldeep Kumar ensuring seamless inter‑agency synergy.
Multiple agencies, including District Police Ramban,Civil administration Ramban, CAPF 84Bn.QRT Chanderkote, IRP 16th Battalion, Health Department, Traffic police Ramban, CAPF, SDRF/Home Guards, Civil Defence Wardens, volunteers, and Civil Quick Response Teams (QRTs),Fire tender team Ramban actively participated in the drill.
During the exercise, complete blackout was observed in designated areas. Citizens were advised to:
• Switch off all lights during the blackout period
• Remain indoors and avoid unnecessary movement
• Stop and safely park vehicles during the exercise
The drill successfully tested preparedness, response mechanisms, and coordination among various agencies. Collective efforts of Civil Defence Wardens, volunteers, Home Guards, SDRF personnel, and the Civil Administration ensured smooth execution, discipline, and public cooperation throughout the exercise.
The District Administration appreciated the cooperation of Ramban residents and reiterated that such exercises are essential for strengthening disaster management systems, enhancing public awareness, and ensuring safety during real‑time emergencies.
