ExaBob does OCR using in-memory bitmaps to map board data to a list of structures. It then brute-force creates child boards based on the initial capture and tries to "solve them". It also has some rules to perform random actions and equalize column height.
ExaBob is actually pretty good at finding moves with good fitness but when it sends keyboard data to the game it drops an input every few key presses. This causes it to behave pathologically for small periods of time. Because it plays so fast it self-corrects but this problem causes ~1/4 of moves to be wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Things to do:
Fix input issue, this should easily get it to score x3 more on average.
Tune delays to avoid concurrency issues
Make computationally efficient hash of boards to avoid duplicate solves
Implement foreach parallel when solving child boards
I don't own the music in this clip but I am also not monetizing this video. The artist details are as follows, if you like it buy it!
Artist: Sweatshop Union
Song: Bill Murray
