Surprise from Japan: Kawasaki Meguro S1 at the 1000PS HOTLAP!

Описание: Kawasaki Meguro S1 – have you heard of this bike? Well, NastyNils certainly hadn’t, not until it suddenly appeared in the 1000PS garage. With no big expectations, the test kicked off on the tight best lap track in Bad Fischau – and the result was a real surprise. What looks like a small, classic retro bike turns out to be a proper bundle of riding joy.

As part of our 1000PS HOTLAP format, the Meguro S1 also went through nine warm-up laps and one timed lap. And this small bike showed some big qualities: smooth handling, good front-end and traction feel, clean braking phases, and a wide usable rev range. Despite only being an S1-class engine and running on narrow tyres, it doesn’t feel nervous or cheap – on the contrary: the chassis plays in a higher league, and the whole package is genuinely convincing.

Of course, performance is limited, especially on the straight. But thanks to the well-balanced setup and cleverly tuned engine, it still delivers real riding pleasure. The riding position suits taller riders as well, handling remains predictable and harmonious – and you immediately want to keep riding.
