I had 2 miscarriages. I'm pregnant again. My doctor said to visit each month, but is 2 weeks safer?

Prenatal care is so important. If you make and keep regular appointments over the course of your pregnancy, you're greatly increasing the chances that you and your baby will be as healthy as possible. Between weeks 4 and 28, you can expect to see the doctor once a month, or every 4 weeks. And then between 28 and 36 weeks, you can expect to see the doctor every other week, or twice a month. And then from 36 to 40 weeks, you begin seeing the doctor every week as you get closer to the delivery of your baby. This schedule isn't set in stone though, and some people have to see their doctor more frequently than this, especially if you're over the age of 35, you have pre-existing medical conditions, complications have come up over the course of your pregnancy, or you're at risk for preterm labor because of your situation or your past history.
Prenatal appointments are a good opportunity for your doctor to check you and your baby, and make sure that things are progressing as they should. And it's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and to be educated on how to properly care for yourself during pregnancy and how to prepare for your newborn. Also talk with your doctor about prenatal classes if it's your first baby, and plan on signing up between 28 and 32 weeks. Good luck with everything, and if you have any other questions for me in the future, feel free to ask them on our Facebook page at / intermountainmoms , and recommend us to your friends and family too.
