One of the newest additions to the Royal Armouries Collection, this lavishly decorated holster pistol is one of just a handful of objects that likely belonged to King James II of England, who was also King James VII of Scotland.
Deposed in 1688 during the Glorious Revolution, James reigned for just 3 years making objects associated with him extremely rare. The pistol will be put on display alongside the monarch's Harquebusier armour as part of one of the world's oldest public museum displays, the Line of Kings at the White Tower in the Tower of London.
