Basil Hayden's 10 Year Bourbon

I was excited to try this Basil Hayden's 10 Year, but unfortunately, it's a bit of a letdown. While it's incredibly smooth with no heat or bite, it lacks the depth of flavor I expected from a 10-year-old bourbon.

The dominant notes are pepper and oak, which overpower any potential sweetness or complexity. I was hoping for hints of maple, cinnamon, or floral notes, but they're simply not there. It's a flat profile that doesn't do justice to the age statement.

While I'm a fan of the standard Basil Hayden's, this 10-year version doesn't impress me. It's smooth, but it's missing the character I crave in a bourbon.
