We took my family inside Mercado 20 de Noviembre in Oaxaca, Mexico — and straight into the famous Pasillo de Humo, also known as the Smoky Alley — where dozens of grills, sizzling meats, and clouds of smoke come together in one unforgettable experience. 🔥🇲🇽
In this vlog, we try different grilled meats, walk through the chaos of the market, and share our real, honest experience — what we loved, what surprised us, and what it’s actually like eating here with family.
I absolutely love this place: the noise, the smoke, the energy, the food, the smells, the life. It’s messy, loud, overwhelming — and beautiful.
📍 About Mercado 20 de Noviembre
Located in the heart of Oaxaca City, this historic market is one of the most famous food destinations in southern Mexico. It’s especially known for:
Traditional Oaxacan cuisine
Fresh tortillas made on-site
Tlayudas, moles, and grilled meats
The iconic Pasillo de Humo grilling corridor
Here, you choose your meat, hand it to a vendor, and they grill it fresh over charcoal — right in front of you.
If you love food travel, street markets, authentic experiences, and seeing places through a local lens — this one’s for you.
