Oil tanker collision 'down to incompetence', says expert

Описание: THE White House is not ruling out foul play after a US tanker was struck by a cargo ship carrying highly toxic sodium cyanide.

Fires aboard both vessels - which collided in the North Sea off the East Yorkshire coast - have continued to burn overnight.

Oceanographer Dr Simon Boxall said it seemed avoidable.

"The Solong should have avoided it and it would be down to incompetence on behalf of Solong. There is no reason why, in the 21st century, two ships should collide," he said.
