Описание: What is the CECT Abdomen?
CECT abdomen is a contrast study of the abdomen to visualize its internal structure and disease condition.

Why is it done?
Doctors recommend this study to see the various problems in the abdomen like:-.

Biliary obstruction
Inflammation of pancreas
Crohn's disease
Ulcerative colitis
Infection in stomach
Pain in abdomen
Evaluate the cancer etc.
In which case CECT abdomen is not performed?
In pregnancy (because radiation will harm the baby) and allergic reaction from iodine the scan is not performed.

What Is The Procedure For CECT abdomen?
In this scan you may need to drink oral contrast for 2 hours after that you need to lie on the table and hands are placed on the sides through IV line dye(contrast medium) is injected.

How Does One Prepare For This Test?
Minimum of 4-6 hours of fasting is required. You need to bring the serum creatinine and all medical reports.

Aftercare
You need to drink a lot of water for faster removal of dye.
