Best Car Hail Protection | Fast, Cheap, Portable

MY CRITERIA FOR SELECTING THIS METHOD
I have looked for an easy hail protection method *for years*, that:
1) It has to actually work - protect
2) Be lightweight for anyone to use
3) Very portable, so I carry along and use when needed
4) Easy to Wrap-up after use

The method shown in video fulfills all four points for me. It takes only 2 minutes to deploy/setup to protect the car against regular hail (size shown in video), and a few minutes to wrap up after use. Because it is vinyl plastic, it doesn't stay wet so it is super easy to wrap-up after use. I keep mine in the trunk of the car, ready to use whenever and where ever needed.

UPDATE - APRIL 2024
This hail protection method is doing awesome and I frequently use it. It is spring storms and hail season again and I love the ease of using this system. There have been a few hail storms this year with average size hail and so far no dings on my vehicle!

IDEAS FOR MORE PROTECTION:
What I show in this video has worked for me so far in moderate hail. For large hail this method is likely not offer enough protection. After evaluating my options, I have settled on buying a large 'Yoga' mat and layer it under this RV mat. Here is the yoga mat which I am looking to purchase (but have not tested yet).
