In today’s lesson, I go through how to classify organic reactions: electrophilic, nucleophilic, addition or substitution, as well as elimination. It is vital that you are able to determine what type of organic reaction is taking place so that the correct mechanism can be assigned. It is recommended that you watch the lessons covering each individual reaction mechanism (linked below), once you have fully understood this video.
This lesson will be helpful to those studying A-level Chemistry, Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry or International Baccalaureate (IB), and is part of a wider series on organic mechanisms (see the relevant links below).
