Peggy DuCharme, executive Director of the Downtown Rideau BIA, is thrilled that Rideau Street will reopen this Saturday after five years of construction closures.
The 350-metre section of Rideau has been put through the wringer since 2015 when the city started work on the LRT station entrances for O-Train Line 1, a.k.a. the Confederation Line, which runs about 26 metres under the historic street. After five years, Rideau Street will be fully functional again.
