And it was the start of when I started uploading lots of Bowsers inside story remasters 😳 here’s the old one if you wanna listen to it, though I don’t recommend it 💀 it’s definitely dated…

It is fun to look back on these videos and compare how much my music has changed over the years. My mixing, composition style, and art have all changed a ton and I’m really glad to have this community that’s supported me throughout these times. Speaking of that…

Now about the music. Man this song goes so insanely hard. I wanted to try to capture this feeling of natural rhythm and tried my best to use more natural sounds. Recreating the drum loop in the background was the most fun part for me. I stayed faithful to the loop but it was fun to mess around with separate parts of it and add more depth to it. When I hear “SHOWTIME!” All I can imagine is Bowser fighting enemies outside in the wild, in nature. So making the drums sound as tribal and natural as possible was a huge goal of mine. There’s so many complex parts to this song. The original song is quite repetitive after the first 2-3 loops. So I tried to add more variety to the composition, having some down sections and even adding onto the original composition with some original melodies and what not. I’m sure you’ll hear what I’m talking about 😎 I had a very big mixing issue with this song in particular. The Muted Trumpets are very hard to mix for some reason. I wanted them to pop and stand out but using an EQ to boost the high end, ended up bringing in a lot of harshness. It started to actually HURT my ears listening to it over and over. So I tried a different method. I used an EQ that works like a compressor. It’s VERY intuitive and I absolutely love using it on more harsh frequencies. And fun fact, I actually started making this remaster 2 years ago, on June 6th, 2022. I slowly worked on it over the years and just recently I got into it a lot more and finished it. Overall, it was extremely fun to work on this one. I believe I spent around 30 hours on it, which is weird because to me it felt like I had spent MONTHS on it hahah.
