A panel discussion presented by Lavender Interfaith Collective (LInC)
As Christian Nationalism gains visibility in American public life, its theological claims and political agendas have profound implications for LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities of faith. This 90-minute webinar examines how the fusion of religion and nationalism shapes public policy, church culture, and social attitudes toward sexual and gender diversity.
Drawing from theology, history, and lived experience, the session explores how Christian Nationalism distorts core faith values—replacing love, justice, and inclusion with exclusionary ideologies that marginalize LGBTIQ+ people. Participants will gain insight into how this movement manifests in legislation, education, and religious rhetoric—and how faith leaders and communities can respond with courage and clarity. The first 60 minutes feature a moderated panel discussion:
Examining the claim that Christian Nationalism is Christianity.
Exploring Christian Nationalism’s lineage in colonialism and the weaponization of faith against LGBTIQ+ people,
Opening space for lifting traditions rooted in love, compassion, justice, and peace, envisioning liberating, life-giving expressions of faith.
