Cast steel rolls
(1) Steel rolls
Low carbon content and low hardness. Cr, Ni, Mo and other alloying elements can be added, or special heat treatment can be performed to increase the hardness.
Application:
Blooming mill or roughing mill rolls, backup rolls.
Work roll for cold rolling mill . (after special heat treatment, obtain high hardness above HS90)
(2) Adamite rolls
The hardness is higher than that of ordinary cast steel rolls. The main feature is that thehardness drop is very small, so it is especially suitable for deep-groove rolls.
Application:
Rough and finishing stands of section mills.
Rough and finishing front-end work rolls of hot strip continuous mills.
Blooming mill rolls, large section mill rolls, blooming continuous mill rolls and vertical rolls for hot strip continuous mill.(If the silicon content is increased, through graphitizing, it has high thermal crack resistance and toughness)
