Khara Pongal
Famous south indian breakfast. Prepared similarly like khichdi. Only the tempering ingredients are different.
Ingredients
1 Cup Moong Dal
1 Cup Soaked Rice
2 Green Chillies
2 Cups Water
Salt as per taste
Tempering Ingredients
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Tbsp Cumin Seeds
1 Tsp grated ginger
1 Tsp Peppercorns
2 Green Chillies
5-6 Cashew
6-7 Curry Leaves
1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tsp Ghee
Handful of Chopped Coriander Leaves
Instructions
Cook moong dal and soaked rice with water, green chillies and salt. U can pressure cook upto 2 whistles or cook until it is mushy.
For tempering heat oil in a Pan and add the tempering ingredients.
After adding Tumeric Powder immediately add the cooked dal rice.
Mix well ..cover and cook for 4 minutes
Garnish with Chopped Coriander leaves and ghee
Serve hot
