THE BRONX - Heavy rain caused some minor flooding near Claremont Park this afternoon, with a row of cars sitting submerged on Webster Avenue near Belmont Street. Water could be seen rising above the bottom of one car’s tailpipe— which could spell big trouble if the water makes it inside the engine. The rising water was also above the bottom of the doors on another car. A pair of SUV’s fared better, sitting above the water line. Traffic was largely able to avoid the floodwaters by driving in the oncoming lane.
