Students and anyone interested is shown how to photograph sherds, using as little specialized equipment as possible. The film provides an insight into the handling of the material, which comes to light in large quantities on almost every excavation.
The film was funded within the framework of the 'Transformation Partnership' of the German Foreign Office and with support from and as part of the Gadara Project of the Damascus branch and research unit of the DAI in Amman
