Tropical Storm Jerry ESE of the Northern Leeward Islands. It will likely head out to the Atlantic and miss Florida and the East Coast, according to the latest forecast. Tropical Storm Jerry could become a hurricane by late Friday or Saturday, according to the NWS. As of Thursday morning, A Tropical Storm watch is in effect for Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Kitts, Nevis, and Montserrat, St. Barthelemy and St. Martin, Sint Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius, and Guadeloupe and the adjacent islands.

The current forecast shows Jerry staying well offshore of the U.S. mainland. But we are are watching for the potential development of a separate subtropical low near the East Coast late this week, which could bring gusty winds and rough surf from Florida to the Outer Banks by Friday or Saturday.
