We took a high-mileage 2016 Audi A4 2.0 TDI with 170,000 miles on the clock on a 2,000 km road trip across Europe, crossing 9 countries with the whole family on board.
The car had a failed remap and a weak turbo, making this journey a real-world test rather than a perfect setup.
In this short video, I share how the Audi performed on long motorways, mountain roads, and border crossings — including real fuel consumption, driving impressions, and practical road-trip tips.
Despite the mileage and mechanical issues, the car completed the trip without breakdowns and averaged just 4.3 L/100 km (~55 mpg UK).
