The Victorian Railways X Class had three different orders between 1966 and 1976. The first Series X Class from 1966 numbered X31 through to X36. The second series X37 to X44 ordered in 1970 and The third series X45 to X54 from 1975. I've always liked the Third Series X Class. X45 named Edgar Brownbill along with C505 were always my favourite locos as a kid.


The X Class has an interesting history and the third series in particular is still in use with a number of different operators and I hope you enjoy it. Next week I'll be covering the T Class Locomotive.
