Doctoring cattle out on the range saves a lot of time when a few get sick and you don't want an infection to spread to the rest of the herd. No medications are given during this event but you can see the primary skills needed to do the job efficiently and easily when working ranch cowboys are working together as a team on horseback.

Ten teams representing working ranches in the Roaring Springs region compete against one another in order to qualify for entry in the WRCA World Championship Ranch Rodeo in Amarillo. The Old Settlers Reunion & Rodeo is always a great excuse to return to a small and beautiful town I have known since my childhood days.

The Motley Dickens Old Settlers Reunion and Rodeo is an annual celebration for the two sparsely populated counties with a long heritage of farming and ranching history.
