Gunung Leuser - A Living Treasure

Описание: This video is the result of my inspiring meetings with Rangers, Researchers and Tourist Guides of the Gunung Leuser National Park in the beautiful region of Aceh - North Sumatra, Indonesia, in 2024. In my opinion they are truly Ambassadors for this Jewel of Biodiversity, one of the last Haven for wild and free Sumatran Orangutans, yet still under pressure of illegal Logging and Wildlife Poachers.

What comes out is that the solutions for preserving the Park come from the collaboration between the Government, NGOs and the local Communities, who get an income from their work as Rangers as well as from Livelihoods at the borders of the park - like Ecotourism and Forest Restoration combined with sustainable and diversified Agriculture.
