On this Saturday afternoon, I travelled an hour's journey to the outskirts of Central Bangkok, to the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River. I was catching a Thai League 3 Division, end of season, Champions League game (basically it's the National Playoffs for the division to determine the season's champion). The tie was between Thonburi United (based at Thonburi University) and Pattani FC from the southern part of Thailand. I was expecting to pay for a ticket to watch the game, but alas, it was FREE ENTRY! I certainly was not expecting to enjoy free entertainment on a weekend in the capital of Thailand.
