In 2009 she held the inaugural Balzan-Skinner lectureship at the University of Cambridge, developing the theme of "The normativity of nature in early-modern thought", and in 2010-11 held a British Academy Research Development Award to edit Locke's disputations on the law of nature for the Clarendon Edition of the works of John Locke.
