Life's a beach. From frolicking along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan to causing more than a few ripples with his single "10,000 Emerald Pools," BØRNS is doing perhaps what he does best: making waves. Currently traveling by land however as part of MisterWives' "Our Own House" tour, I caught up with the Grand Haven native during what could be considered a homecoming of sorts at Saint Andrew's in Detroit to find out how his roots in The Mitten gave him the upper hand for life in a treetop abode, why you won't hear him mentioning his former band name at any restaurants, and what in the world he was doing in Elton John's apartment (hint: he too is trained on piano, but didn't need to know how to work any keys for this one). With major cosigns from Taylor Swift and One Republic and an Interscope recording contract, if you're 'wading' for BØRNS' buoyant career to take a dip, I wouldn't hold your breath.
