𝗟𝗔𝗣𝗗 𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Police Order Tent Removed at Venice Beach

Описание: VENICE BEACH, Calif. — Sunday, March 1, 2026 — Los Angeles police officers issued a citation to a man at Venice Beach after observing a tent erected on the sand near the Ocean Front Walk.

According to what was witnessed at the scene, officers informed the man that the tent was not permitted under park regulations and advised that it needed to be dismantled. The man complied without incident and proceeded to take the tent down.

The enforcement action references Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) 63.44(I)(9), which governs umbrellas, sun shades, and canopies within city parks. The code states that such structures must be open on all sides and may not exceed eight feet in height and ten feet in diameter or width. The regulation further requires that all umbrellas or sun shades be dismantled and removed from the park before closing hours.

Posted signage along the Venice Beach Ocean Front Walk also lists additional restrictions, including prohibitions on tents, attached stakes, and other structures not authorized under park rules. Several of these notices are displayed at multiple points along the boardwalk, outlining applicable municipal codes and park hours.

Venice Beach Ocean Front Walk is closed daily from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., and signage states that no remaining in the park is permitted past closing hours.

Officers at the scene maintained a calm interaction while addressing the violation. No further enforcement action was observed beyond the citation and voluntary compliance.

Venice Beach remains one of the most heavily patrolled public spaces in Los Angeles, with routine code enforcement aimed at maintaining pedestrian access, public safety, and compliance with municipal regulations.
