welcome back to Iram Fatima nursing channel, it's iram fatima nursing officer at AIIMS delhi.
Description
In this video, we cover three important concepts used in ICU and critical care monitoring: CVP, PICC line, and pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP). These topics are extremely important for nursing students preparing for competitive exams and working in critical care units.
We start with Central Venous Pressure (CVP) and understand what it indicates, normal values, waveform components, and clinical significance in assessing fluid status and right heart function.
Next, we discuss the Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC line)—including insertion sites, pathway of the catheter, indications, advantages, and complications commonly encountered in clinical practice.
Finally, we explain Pulmonary Capillary Wedge Pressure (PCWP), how it is measured using a Swan-Ganz catheter, its normal range, and how it helps assess left heart function and pulmonary circulation.
This session is designed to make complex ICU concepts simple, exam-oriented, and easy to remember, especially for NORCET, AIIMS, ESIC, and other nursing competitive exams.
📌 Topics Covered:
• CVP monitoring and waveform
• Triple lumen central line basics
• PICC line insertion and uses
• Pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP)
• Important exam points and clinical correlations
