Lake Tahoe is located on the border of California And Nevada. It features numerous beaches, pristine clear water, and multiple hiking trails all around. Here are the places we visited:
LAKE TAHOE ATTRACTIONS
Hidden Beach: This beach is located on the northeast side of the lake. There are no parking spots near it, so you’ll need to take the free shuttle from Incline Village on the north side.
Sand Harbor: This popular beach is also on the northeast side. There is a charge for parking, but the shuttle also drops you off here as well.
Cave Rock Trail: On the east side of the lake, this is large rock that the main highway tunnels through. There is small free parking lot and a dirt trail that goes along the hill to the rock. You can stand near the top of the rock and watch the cars pass under. The trail length is 0.8 miles out-and-back.
Zephyr Cove: On the east side of the lake, this is beach has restaurants and is popular for boat tour launches. There is a parking fee
.Rainbow Trail: Located in South Lake Tahoe, this is a half-mile loop trail through the forest along a creek. It is paved and boardwalk. There’s a section of the trail that goes underground, with glass walls against the creek, so you can see the fish swimming underwater.
Emerald Bay: This is a beautiful bay on the southwest side of the lake. It’s a one-mile steep hike to get down to the beach, but you can get scenic views from the road.
Eagle Falls Trail: This is a short 1/3 mile trail up to a bridge that crosses over the waterfall. You can continue on to Eagle Lake, which would make a 2-mile round trip hike.
Sugar Pine Point: This beach and campground is located on the west side of the lake. There is a fee for parking.
