We continue our journey through the Pamirs in Tajikistan. After visiting the Pshart Valley, we head toward the village of Karakul, located at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level. On the way, we crossed the Ak-Baital Pass – the highest point on the Pamir Highway (M41). We stayed in the village of Karakul, nestled beside a large lake, where we were warmly welcomed by the locals.
From Karakul, we’ll take an unconventional and rarely chosen route – toward the Bartang Valley via the Kokjar Pass.
