First ride of the season — and what a way to start it.
Three friends, three bikes (Yamaha Tenere 700, Voge 300 Rally and Yamaha WR450), and a forest that still thinks it’s winter. The calendar says spring, but the trails are covered in snow with a hidden layer of ice underneath. Cold air, melting patches, and that unpredictable surface that keeps you on your toes the entire time.
POV from the Yamaha Tenere shows just how tricky it was. The standard Pirelli Scorpion front tire had almost no grip on the icy sections — the front end constantly searching for traction, sliding and reminding me to stay smooth on the bars. Every turn was a lesson. Every straight line was a test of balance and throttle control.
It wasn’t fast. It wasn’t clean. But it was real.
Slippery conditions forced us to focus, adapt, and trust our skills. Moments like this are what make riding special — not perfect grip and sunny asphalt, but raw nature, challenge, and learning something new with your friends by your side.
Cold hands. Wet boots. Big smiles.
